This new agreement extends a relationship of more than 25 years between both companies. Sugar is home to one of the most prestigious catalogs of Italian and French soundtracks: CAM Sugar. With over 2,000 original soundtracks, it documents the sound of Italian cinema and captures film history like no other. ‘La Dolce Vita’, ‘Amarcord’, ‘Mondo Cane’, ‘Il Postino’, ‘Fellini 8½’ and ‘Il Gattopardo’ are just some of the works of more than 400 music masters such as Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone, Luis Bacalov, Riz Ortolani, Piero Piccioni, Armando Trovajoli, Piero Umiliani, Stelvio Cipriani, Fiorenzo Carpi and Philippe Sarde among many others. Nino Rota This agreement marks the beginning of a new era of creative collaboration between the two companies in which UMG will distribute the complete collection of famous Sugar catalogs from their extraordinary 88-year career. Founded in Milan in 1932 by Ladislao Sugar, Sugar has been at the forefront of Italian music culture for decades. As part of the momentous deal, UMG, Decca Records and Sugar will be working closely together to explore this vast and underused collection of music to re-discover and conceptualize some of their most recognizable and magical recordings from the world of Italian and European cinema for its future launch and thus reintroduce these cinematic masterpieces to a new generation of music and film lovers around the world. -Advertising- Sugar Music is also known for its extensive catalog of leading contemporary Italian artists whose music will now be distributed by UMG Italy.
