More than 80 entrepreneurs participate in the ‘Espoban’ project in the province | CORDÓPOLIS, the Digital Newspaper of Córdoba

The Provincial Council of Córdoba has valued the business development that has enabled the implementation of the Interreg Spain-Portugal project, Espoban, the Business Angels Network in the province, in which more than 80 entrepreneurs have participated who “wanted to take part in this project registering with the aim of being able to make a business dream come true or with the need to expand and better position their companies ”. This was highlighted by the delegate of European Programs and Electronic Administration of the Diputación de Córdoba, Víctor Montoro, who argued that “thanks to Espoban we have positioned Córdoba on the startup ecosystem map since this project, a pioneer for the province, has managed to strengthen relations between investors -both national and international- and entrepreneurs with the intention of generating economic and business development “. In this sense, he added that the aforementioned project “has come to cover a necessary meeting space between investors and entrepreneurs, promoted from the public”. In addition, Montoro has reported that “work is being done on the possibility of this project having continuity in the province of Córdoba.” Of the 80 registered entrepreneurial initiatives, 72 have been tutored and, of these, 21 have been presented to the different forums, showing the degree of investibility they required before an important network of Business Angels from different areas of the country, all thanks to the effort and work of the consultants of the Bussiness In Fact program. In this regard, Montoro recalled that “the training has not only been aimed at entrepreneurs but has also focused on investors, since more than 30 have been trained throughout the development of the project; We have managed to finance a total of seven projects, while several of them are still in negotiation rounds. ” Specifically, in the first edition Robokids, Sport Madness Córdoba, Ecoblock House, Hedoné Gourmet, BePrevent and Agroair were presented; in the second, Brag, Layertolayer, Dyndong, Sunnyoffer, Gasbiker, Transeop, Building Business and Ok Located; and in the third, IDRA, GKS, Prottech, Sol Galaxy, Plasma Advance, Ozeanic and Dyngong. This third forum has put an end to the Espoban project, co-financed by Feder at 75 percent and framed in the first call of the Interreg VA Spain-Portugal Program (Poctep) 2014-2020, which is led by the European Center for Business and Innovation (CEEI) Bahía de Cádiz. In addition to the Diputación de Córdoba, Huelva, Seville -through Prodetur- and the Portuguese associations of Algarve and Alentejo, the Associação Centro de Incubação de Empresas de Base Tecnológica Vasco da Gama-Sines Tecnopolo; and the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Portugal (ANJE). The project budget for the Cordovan provincial institution has amounted to 452,103 euros, in which Interreg finances 75% and the Provincial Government the remaining percentage. SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVES The Córdoba Provincial Council has been one of the first administrations that has shown its commitment to identifying and aligning the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), both locally and provincially, as well as internationally, in the scope of cooperation. In this sense, the Espoban Interreg Spain-Portugal project locates its actions with support for Sustainable Development Goals 8, 16 and 17, specifically its goals 8.3, 16.6 and 17.7. In addition, the projects that have been trained and have gone through the three investment forums have been informed of this and their purposes have been aligned with different support for SDG goals, with which their initiatives have been valued.
